  3. Will TravelSIM work with my mobile phone / handset?
    • TravelSIM will work on almost all GSM mobile phone handsets.
    • Some handsets require that you make calls using the TravelSIM Menu option

  5. How do I call someone from my TravelSIM?
    • Golden Rule– always dial the full international number no matter where you are calling from, or where you are calling to.
    • Dialling Instructions:
      1. With TravelSIM you dial the full international number
      2. You wait five to ten seconds
      3. YOUR phone will ring
      4. You answer this call as you normally would
      5. You are then connected to the person you are trying to call
    • You may also dial using the TravelSIM Menu
      • This is actually required in Saudi Arabia and New Zealand
      • It is good to learn how to do this in case you get stuck

  7. How much can I expect to save?
    • The short answer is A LOT!
    • Actual savings depend on what you are paying now, how much you use your phone, where you are travelling to and many other factors.

  9. My TravelSIM is not working, what should I do?
    1. Turn your phone Off then On
        this should be done with all mobile phones on all networks at least once per day.
    2. Check Balance
        You need credit to make a phone call
        Simply go into the TravelSIM (SIM) menu and check balance
    3. Are you dialling the correct number?
      • This is the number one reason for problems with TravelSIM.
      • Please take the time to learn how to dial international numbers.
      • It will save you a lot of hassle and allow you to enjoy the benefits of using TravelSIM.
    4. Do you have network coverage
      • Like any other mobile phone service, you need to have network coverage.
      • If you find coverage is low, try switching networks.
      • Often a phone reset will fix temporary network issues.

  11. How does someone call me on my TravelSIM?
    • They may contact your in one of two ways:
      1. They can call you direct on your TravelSIM number.
        • It begins with 372, and includes the country code.
        • If someone was calling you from Australia, from a land line they would dial
          • 0011 372 ### ## ###
        • If someone was calling you from Australia, from a mobile they would dial
          • + 372 ### ## ###
      2. They can also contact you by dialling the TravelSIM FreeCall service – 1800 424 087
        • They simply dial 1800 424 087 and when asked
        • When prompted they enter your TravelSIM number (Do not enter the plus sign or 0011)
        • This is the best way for family and business associates to call you.
        • They pay $0 to call you (from a landline) and you pay $0.35/minute USD surcharge to receive the call.
          • NOTE: Surcharge means that if there is a cost to receive calls for the country you are in, you will be charged $0.35/min USD in addition to that charge. If it is FREE to receive calls for the country you are in, you will only be charged $0.35/min USD to receive calls through the 1800 number.
        • This works out the most cost effective
    • Friends and family could also look at buying a phone card.
      • This could be the most economical
      • Make sure you test the phone card before buying lots of credit

  13. How do I Top Up / Add Credit to my TravelSIM service?
    • You may TopUp your account from this web site at anytime using Credit Card or Paypal.
    • The best way is to set up Handset TopUp - login here to set this up
    • You can also call us on the normal help number- there is no way for us to make this a free call worldwide
      • So please remember this way will cost you money

  15. Will my mobile work in the country I am visiting? How can I work this out?

  17. Why is TravelSIM so cheap? What's the catch?
    • There is a catch and this is it:
      • when you dial with TravelSIM
      • instead of being connected to the person you are calling directly
      • you will actually receive a call on your phone first
      • You answer this call and you are connected through.
      • That’s it!
      • In most cases the delay will be no longer than you would normally get when you Travel in another country and use your modile.
      • If can join over 500,000 other users around the world who don’t mind this small difference in dialling, you can take advantage of very cheap roaming calls too.
